Fracture sits at the origin of the SKL/FLWR series — a quieter, sparer image where the break itself becomes the bloom.
It is built on balance in opposition: dark to light, the Yin and the Yang, the organic against the artificial. Neither half of that pairing survives alone, and the painting holds them in the same frame without resolving the tension.

Fracture began digitally, not as a finished image, but as a set of physical rules.
I built the original form in Cinema 4D and gave its surface the properties of a heavy, rubberized membrane. Using a hand-painted vertex map, I defined areas of strength and weakness across the form, controlling where the structure would remain intact and where it could stretch, distort, and eventually break apart.
I removed gravity from the environment and introduced wind and turbulence. Rather than sculpting the fractured areas by hand, I allowed these forces to interact with the varying strengths I had painted into the surface. The resulting form became a balance between intention and unpredictability.
Once I found the right moment in the simulation, I used Octane Render to develop the lighting, materials, and atmosphere, pushing the digital object toward a more photographic quality. I then incorporated photographic compositing and color grading to create the final reference image.
From there, the digital process stopped.
The reference was translated entirely by hand into oil paint on wood panel, transforming something created through simulation, light, and digital physics into a permanent physical object.

Jesse Ozar
Jesse Ozar is an artist living in Los Angeles, California, working at the intersection of neo-surreal imagery and fine art. "I try to employ balance in opposition, dark to light; the Yin and the Yang; organic to artificial. Working within this frame always suggests that there remains a symbiotic relationship at play. One cannot exist without the other. I am a designer that paints." He attended the Gnomon School of Visual Arts, studying under John Brown and Charles Hu, and holds a Bachelor's Degree in Graphic Design from San Diego State University, where a graphic design practice quickly translated into painting. Beyond his mother, who taught him most of what he knows about art, and Gnomon, he is self-taught. Selected exhibitions include The Sofitel Hotel, Beverly Hills (2020); BH Art Fair, Beverly Hills (2019); Gauntlet Gallery, San Francisco (2016); The Hive, Los Angeles (2015, 2011); and Gallery 1988, Los Angeles (2014–2015).
Payment in full, or in installments.
A 20% deposit is due within 48 hours of the auction closing, which secures the work in the winning collector's name. The remaining balance may be settled in full, or across a 3-month or 6-month installment plan agreed in writing at the time of deposit.
The painting remains in the artist's studio, insured and unshipped, until payment is completed. Once the final installment clears, the work is professionally packed, crated, and released for delivery, accompanied by a signed certificate of authenticity.
Payment is arranged privately by email. Card and bank transfer are both accommodated; installment schedules are fixed at the outset with no interest or additional fees.
